Official Hong Kong Sixes Playing Rules
6 Overs & 6 Players

Each innings consists of 6 overs (6 legal balls per over). Each side fields six players (5 outfielders + 1 wicketkeeper).

5 Bowlers Rule

Every outfielder bowls exactly 1 over each. The designated wicketkeeper is not permitted to bowl or bowl out.

31 Runs Mandatory Retirement

A batsman must retire not out upon reaching 31 runs. Retired batsmen may return only after all remaining teammates are dismissed.

Last Man Stands Rule

When 5 wickets fall, the last remaining batsman continues batting alone with the 5th dismissed player acting solely as a non-striking runner.

Penalty Runs on Extras

Wides and no-balls carry a 2-run penalty awarded directly to the batting side plus an extra delivery bowled.

Three Tier Trophies (Cup, Plate, Bowl)

Top 2 in each pool advance to the Cup; losing Cup QF teams contest the Plate; 3rd-placed pool teams battle for the Bowl.
